I was record shopping with my wife in the Bywater district of New Orleans. She wasn't following me around. I wasn't following her. We were just doing our own thing.
I found an old Erma Thomas record that I wanted to tell her about and looked up. She was standing on the other side of the store in her red sundress she'd picked out, probably for this very purpose.
My heart skipped a beat and froze that image in my mind forever.
I always fall in love at the record store.
